Rejection
Most folks following me know that Eco-Gal turns plastic bags into plarn into crocheted tote bags and has the trigger finger to prove it! What do I do with these tote bags? I sell them but have not come up with a good system for that.
I’ve toyed with the idea of setting up a page on ETSY but that seems like too much trouble and I’m not tech savvy.
Also, I’ve brought them to a few stores in Gainesville hoping some would take some of my creations on consignment.
No luck!
This week I got rejected again. A store owner really liked the idea of turning trash to treasure but she didn’t think they would sell. Bummer!
I even made a slightly different model so it would be large enough to use as a computer tote. She said that grey doesn’t sell. Well, grey is my predominant color because the local grocery store, Winn Dixie, favors the grey bag. My goal is to use up single use plastic not buy a bunch of unused bags to satisfy a color fetish.
Although, I do love those rare, blue bags.
Retail is hard to break into; at least for me.
I’ve given a bunch of totes away and I guess I should be grateful that folks are happy to have one. Also, my bags are a testimony to recycling at it’s most basic. Everyone loves the idea just not the look.
Ah, well, I will continue making them. Hate to stop the production line.
