Getting Plastic Out of Tooth Care

Anyone following my adventures knows I’m always trying to decrease my carbon footprint.

Recently I discovered toothpaste tablets in a small, paper bag. You pop a tab in your mouth, chew a little and then begin brushing. It’s not bad although I think I’m going to split the tab so that I chew it on both sides of my mouth. That way one side doesn’t get more attention than the other. The claim on the label is it equals two tubes of toothpaste. I’m hoping to make this a permanent addition to my tooth care. BTW, the tear at the top was my doing. It didn’t come this way.

Toothpaste Tablets, Something New

Plastic tooth brushes are out (my new one is made out of bamboo) and no more plastic dental floss in a plastic container. I bought some made from natural silk

BUT . . .

giving up toothpaste has been a problem. I like using toothpaste. I just hate the container but toothpaste alternatives taste pretty bad. Everyone knows that baking soda works well in a pinch but it tastes horrible! This tooth powder that I bought tastes almost as bad baking soda AND it comes in a single use plastic container.

Two strikes and you’re out, tooth powder.

Anyway, it’s my latest attempt to “green up” my life. Wish me luck.

God is Green!
