Sue and her dog

The following paragraph is an excerpt from an email written by my friend and former colleague, Sue. It’s almost as if she and I are on the same wavelength. Saving the world can begin with baby steps like taking single use plastic out of your life.

Seven of us got together via Zoom this past Tuesday and had a nice visit. Sara was busy crocheting bags with plarn, yarn she has made from plastic bags, and we got to talking about environmentally friendly products. Here are a couple I mentioned that others were interested in.
For hand soap I use tablets from Blueland. My kit consisted of 2 heavy glass bottles with pump dispensers and scented tablets that dissolve easily in water. No coloring added. No more plastic bottles to toss in big blue. I also use dishwasher detergent from Blueland— compressed tablets that I keep in an airtight container. They come packaged in a paper bag. My dishes are just as clean and no micro-plastics are used.
I also use shampoo bars from the earthling company. The lower case letters are theirs. Also, I ordered dissolvable laundry sheets from Amazon. Minimal packaging, no sticky residue, and they do a great job of cleaning.
Lastly I ordered cotton mesh bags to use for grocery store produce. They work great and eliminate the need for those tear-off produce bags. Now if Publix would just have more open produce!
Maybe you have other products you can suggest to help the environment.

If Sue can do it, you can do it.

God is Green!
