Amazon Delivers the Compost

COVID19 has really hurt Eco-Gal’s quest for compostable materials. I haven’t picked up any coffee grounds from Starbucks since March! Also, I was getting shredded paper from my son’s office. Those supplies have dried up but . . . necessity is the mother of invention.

On Tuesday I visited my neighbor, Jeanine, and she gave me garbage.

She’s my friend.

Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea but it looks beautiful to me!

Amazon had delivered an order to her house and she had a really long sheet of brown paper which was going into her recycling bin. I asked her if I could have it for my compost and she agreed. After leaving her house I came upon another neighbor’s recycling bin and it was FULL!! of the same paper (they must have received an Amazon order too) so I took it. I always feel a little apprehensive when i go through someone’s garbage. What if they come out and catch me in the act? I know it sounds silly but there it is.

We have a super duper shredder in our home office and it made quick work of the paper. I had to empty the bin twice before I finished shredding it all. Yay!! Little things make me happy.

God is Green!
