Eco-Gal and Her Helpers

Last week I gathered more free garbage from Starbucks. Surprise!!

Because I am old and frail, young people want to help me. Here's Kyle and Nyna helping me with the garbage. Almost everyone at Starbucks goes out of their way to save to reduce the store's carbon footprint.

All the Starbucks shops in Gainesville are very good about saving coffee grounds. Only the Starbucks near the Oaks Mall refuses to save. I think the manager just doesn't care about making the effort. It's very sad.

A funny thing happened recently. I had just claimed two hefty bags of coffee grounds and was sitting down sipping my passion fruit tea from my reusable cup when another woman came in and asked for coffee grounds. She left disappointed because I had already claimed them. Wouldn't it be great if Starbucks never had to throw away coffee grounds because of customer demand?

What a wonderful vision!

Remember, every bag of grounds that you take means less trash in the landfill. Go in today and ask for coffee grounds. Your outside plants will love it and you'll be doing your part to make the earth more inhabitable.
